Rush Blade Jam 2015

Another great day “Down South” at the Rush Skate Park with a few chill friends and rollers. Good food, great beer and some top draw skating were all in attendance again this year.

The pro and am were combined and it resulted in a mad session.

  • 1st Danny Loveless
  • 2nd Matty Vella
  • 3rd Matt Woods

Then of course there was the cheese wheel time trial where

  • 1st Aaron Polhill
  • 2nd Cam Burr
  • 3rd Henry Ravenhill

And then there was that AO fish that won David Wing best trick

Thanks to everyone who came together to organise such a fun event, and all of those who turned up to skate and give me targets for my lenses. Here’s what I got:

Oh, and by the way there’s an edit…

MCR Street Jam 2015

I didn’t get many shots at the Jam this year so you’ll have to take my word that it was the biggest and best yet. Great weather, amazing people and serious skating. The best atmosphere you can get when sessioning. just a crowd of friends meeting up for good times and to share times with the best company.

Results:
1st – Yuri Botelho – LocoSkates £100 prize plus more!
2nd – Dave Mutschall – nuff stuff!
3rd – Dan Collins – more stuff!
Special prize goes to Niko Salaman for smashing it! Pair of Razors Scott Quinn signature pro skate.
James Keyte special prize, a palm sized tattoo from Tatt Studioix Manchester!

Thanks again to Alex, Scott, Lemon, Jam, the Peters family for bringing the box and everyone who helped support, organise, and clear up after such an amazing event.

A wet week in Lisbon

So five of us went to Lisbon. We found mostly cobbles and rain. It was a great week and we did find some spots to skate. Here’s a glimpse of what happened when the sun came out (or went down).

Oh, and yes, there will be an edit. What did you expect? It has however been delayed due to technical (if you can call a Mac technical) issues. It’s turn up at some point though. It’s on rollerblader time. When it’s ready…

Laced 2015 – Afterparty photos

OK, it took a while. A few things got in the way but they are now here. Standard japes and shenanigans that you’d expect from an international band of rollerblading hooligans. Friends, beers and a pool table, what more could you want?

Laced 2015 Skating Photos

Busy day. Some amazing skating and a great atmosphere. Here’s my shots from the event:

Pre-Laced 2015 Friday Night Photos

Tripping over to Rampworx after work on a Friday night, these are just a few shots I picked off from the Pre-Laced session. Just an open session in the park that a number of visiting skaters were using to warm up and get a feel for the park ready for the main event.

Vice Aus – Rolling in the 2000’s

Vice_LogoVice Media are not generally known to be open minded toward rollerblading but it seems that in Australia things may be different. As someone who has been skating from the early 90’s I have to say that a recent article published on Vice Australia is pretty much spot on. The views of a rollerblader without any negative dogma. Even going to the level of calling out the skateboard industry for their unnecessary and cynical division of the sports.

Get over there and read. I definitely support this attitude towards our sport and will be keeping an eye on the Australian section of Vice from now on and hope that this trends over to the main Vice site. No breath will be held in the meantime though…
