THIRTEEN has been released

Contamination due to exposure to the THIRTEEN contagion is imminent. Evidence has been compiled of the last 12 months documenting what can happen to normal skaters when infected. Tricks become ill and skating manifests into sessions at the slightest encouragement. The only thing stopping this phenomenon from hitting pandemic levels was the skaters’ inherent defence mechanism – being late.

The seeds have been sown and are now evolving. This will get bigger. Protect yourself.

Rotterdam Invitational – 15th Feb

Rotterdam Invitational LogoFor those with a flexible timetable who are heading out to Winterclash you should consider another stopover. There are obviously the charming attractions of Amsterdam to consider, but if you can manage to tear yourself away for a day or two then head over to the Rotterdam Invitational. It’s on the 15th Feb, which is the Saturday before Winterclash, and only an hour down the road at Skateland Rotterdam.

Also, check out the park. Somewhere I definitely need to get to…

Photos from the Roll Kings Tour 2013

Well, it was a few dates around the North of England for the Roll Kings team on their “Winter Splinter” tour this November. With a different skatepark each consecutive night it was a battle but most came out alive. I even got photos and they have finally been sorted, processed and uploaded. They are all in one gallery but they are spread over three nights, at The Asylum, Bones III and The Arc. All parks that you need to visit if you haven’t already.

Skate Wallpaper – Rosie O’Donoghue

After looking through the photos I got from the Roll Kings Winter Splinter mini tour I picked out this shot of our little Scottish Razors rider, Rosie O’Donoghue on a Tru Soul at The Arc in Preston. It just happened to crop well for a wallpaper image so that’s exactly what I did. It’s cropped, sized and optimised for 1920×1080. Keep your eyes out for the full image along with all the other shots I grabbed which I’ll be working through and getting online soon…. ish.

A quick trip over the Pennines and my first visit to The Asylum skatepark for the Roll Kings mini tour stop.

Getting some pictures to post up later but keep your eyes out for more appearances at Bones III tomorrow evening and the last spot at The Arc on Sunday night. Good times.

Jenna Downing Pro Skate Launch

As part of the release for Jenna’s pro model skate from Razors, a launch event was arranged to coincide with an inline only night at Rampworx. As is the way of things, restrictions of work and the time management skills of an average skater meant I couldn’t make it for long but I did shoot a few frames and you can check them out below:

Slamm Jamm 15 – Photos are out

Slamm_Jamm_15_LogoSo it took a while. Part of that was of course recovering from the weekend, but now I can face the light again I thought I’d better get the pictures done and out for all to see. As is standard for such an event there are more photos of the afterparty than there were from the skating itself, but who’s surprised?

If you want to see more of the skating that went down, check out the videos below:

One City One Shot Episode #6

Out and about grabbing a few clips, checking out some new spots after trying to get a look at Euxton skatepark through the swathes of scooters. We find ourselves in Chorley. Nothing much to account for the day apart from some fun times. That was until this tempting little beauty hit the radar. Kyle Murray stepped up and regardless of the proximity of the barriers and shopping trolley ranks, dropped this farside soul through the kink.

Richard Taylor Trophy 2013 photos

So, I have been promising for years to get down to the Knapp in Barry for the Rich Taylor comp that runs every year and this year I finally made it… Almost. Well due to other engagements I couldn’t get down early as I would have liked and due to the distance I arrived in glorious sunshine at around 16:30, just as the competition was winding up. Still there were people skating and I’d brought my gear so why not get a few shots while I’m down.

And that’s what I did:

For those, like me, who missed the comp, you really need to watch this edit by Ned Espeut-Nickless

And you want the results? Who am I to refuse?
