MCR Street Jam 2015

I didn’t get many shots at the Jam this year so you’ll have to take my word that it was the biggest and best yet. Great weather, amazing people and serious skating. The best atmosphere you can get when sessioning. just a crowd of friends meeting up for good times and to share times with the best company.

Results:
1st – Yuri Botelho – LocoSkates £100 prize plus more!
2nd – Dave Mutschall – nuff stuff!
3rd – Dan Collins – more stuff!
Special prize goes to Niko Salaman for smashing it! Pair of Razors Scott Quinn signature pro skate.
James Keyte special prize, a palm sized tattoo from Tatt Studioix Manchester!

Thanks again to Alex, Scott, Lemon, Jam, the Peters family for bringing the box and everyone who helped support, organise, and clear up after such an amazing event.

Laced 2015 – Afterparty photos

OK, it took a while. A few things got in the way but they are now here. Standard japes and shenanigans that you’d expect from an international band of rollerblading hooligans. Friends, beers and a pool table, what more could you want?

Laced 2015 Skating Photos

Busy day. Some amazing skating and a great atmosphere. Here’s my shots from the event:

Unit 23 Open 2014

Unit 23 Open LogoSo, there were a few names down for this little known event in an obscure park somewhere in Scotland. Thought I’d head up to see what it’s about. I knew it was going to be a long weekend so rather than brave the dubious Unit 23 sofas I went for the safer option of camper in the carpark (which came with the added bonus of late night toast). Turned out alright in the end.

Well, with names like Montre Livingston, Josh Glowicki, Fredrik Andersson, Alex Burston and many more in the building, it’s no surprise that the level of skating was high. With these guys though it also meant the vibe was competitive but friendly. This perspective ran throughout the day, including all the competitions. I think the youngest category received the biggest cheers (partially bolstered by the mums and dads no doubt, but still). A great day as always put on by Scott Quinn and the Unit 23 staff.

So the story goes that after a good night’s Honey fueled sleep, and sweet breakfast, I took a few photos…

Oh yeah, and some random traveler called Anthony Medina knocked together an edit

Rush Blade Jam 2014

It was a hot day. A long hot day. Great park though and many skills were exhibited. When it came down to it though, top spot went to a rather ill Alex Burston. I managed to get a few shots down even though my batteries had decided it was a good day to take a holiday. Cheers to the organisers and sponsors of the event, to Rush Skatepark for having us over, and of course to everyone who turned up. Hope those that made it to the lake in the evening managed to cool down adequately.

Oh, and there’s an edit out as well…

MCR Street Jam 2014

MCR_Street_Jam_LogoIn planning the second of what could become the UK’s primary street skate event, local boy and international rollerblading legend Alex Burston could never have guessed it would be right in the middle of the hottest weather of the year. Which would have been perfect, were it not for the biggest summer thunderstorms the area has seen for a generation landing right at the same time.

Was it a washout though? Did the street skaters pack up and go home? Of course not. Everyone still came and converged on Castlefields Arena as you would expect and when there was a break in the rain long enough to clear some of the puddles, mayhem commenced. The MCR Street Jam was on for another year.

Filmed by Scott Hallows and Tim Darker for The Booted

I however set off late and having nearly been washed off the M6 on my journey North decided to play it safe and went straight to the “after session” organised at Bones Skatepark. Here I got my camera out and took a few shots of the very hot warm-down session that occurred.

SummerClash 2014 Photos

Summerclash LogoSo, it was an adventure, that’s for sure. Driving a 1972 VW camper from the middle of the UK to Berlin for the weekend was always going to be eventful. It didn’t disappoint.

Due to a number of issues, I missed a lot of the event, turning up on the Saturday just as the girls final was starting on the spine. Grabbed the camera, no flashes, took some shots. I managed to cover a lot of the skating that day with limited resources, and returned later to get some pictures from the on-site afterparty. The photos will take a while to get in the gallery due to other adventuring. However, here’s what the event looked like to me.

Noiya Jam 2014 Photos

Noiya LogoSo, I finally got around to sorting through the photos from the Noiya Jam at The House Skatepark a few weeks back. I’m afraid I missed the Open comp almost entirely and arrived just in time for the Experts to start. As a result I don’t have too many shots. I hope you enjoy what I did manage to shoot though.

Slamm Jamm 15 – Photos are out

Slamm_Jamm_15_LogoSo it took a while. Part of that was of course recovering from the weekend, but now I can face the light again I thought I’d better get the pictures done and out for all to see. As is standard for such an event there are more photos of the afterparty than there were from the skating itself, but who’s surprised?
